EPA Releases Top U.S. Cities With Energy Star Buildings

The Environmental Protection Agency has released its sixth annual list of the top 25 U.S. cities with the most Energy Star certified buildings. Some of the top cities on the list are Los Angeles, Washington D.C., Atlanta, New York and San Francisco. Energy Star is aimed at increasing energy efficiency and saving money on energy costs. The E-P-A says energy use in commercial buildings account for 17 percent of U.S. greenhouse gas emissions at a cost of more than $100-billion per year.
