Pleasant Hill Outdoor Camp in Perrysville held an open house over the weekend to welcome new campers.

The campground includes several activity areas such as a soccer field, basketball court, and even a beach area to swim at.

"My favorite thing, really, is the people," said "Smokey" Radley, a camp counselor. "Camp is a special place where people from all walks of life get to come and grow together. We focus on what we call 'Essential Life Skills'. So helping kids learn how to make friends, helping kids take risks, step outside of their comfort zones with a huge safety net here of the counselors and the staff... that's what we do, and that's what we love doing. Getting to help kids do that? For me, that's my favorite part."
