According to athletic director Tim Failor, Joe Jakubick is the next boys' basketball coach at Mansfield St.Peter's taking over for veteran coach Pat Durham who stepped down after the 2013-'14 season. Jakubick formerly coached the girls varsity at Akron St.Vincent-St.Mary taking the Irish to the final four this past season.

In an e-mail to WMFD, Failor stated Jakubick's experience as a coach at SVSM and the ablility to work within a parochial system made him a prime candidate for the job. Jakubich was one of the best basketball players to ever play at Madison Comprehensive High School which he followed up with an All-American career at the University of Akron from 1980 to 1984.
