Mifflin Township Fire Chief Michael Clineage hung up his boots in a retirement party over the weekend, celebrating 37 years of dedication to Mifflin residents.

"Serving the community was always the highlight of this job," said Clineage during the reception. "I've been able to meet a lot of those people today, township residents that have always supported us through the years."

Clineage noted how grateful he was to Mifflin residents for the staunch support the fire department received in all of its levies.

He also expressed how he felt about his own retirement - saying that he'll miss his crew and the people he served with, and the warm memories he has with them.

"The part I'm not gonna miss is getting up in the middle of the night, fighting the snow, and ice, and all that stuff," he joked.

People in attendance shared stories and talked about memories with Clineage as they enjoyed refreshments.
