The Bucyrus Redmen softball team is off to an 11-3 start after 14 games and stand at 6-0 in the North Central Conference after a 7-3 win at Colonel Crawford on Wednesday evening. The Redmen got another good performance from pitcher Taylor Rossman who struck out 13 Eagle batters while giving up just one walk and two hits.

Over the last three games, two of them no-hitters, Rossman has recorded 31 K's. Wednesday evening she got offensive support from Macey Sheerer with a run scoring double and Laney Mollenkopf while helping her own cause with a pair of hits. As a team, the Redmen pounded out eight hits scoring two runs in the first and four more in their half of the sixth and another in the seventh.

Rossman also took a no-hitter into the bottom of the seventh on Wednesday before the Eagles Jada Klingenberger smacked a single to right field. The loss dropped Colonel Crawford to 6-8 in all games and 2-4 in the NCC. Although his team's record may not show it, coach Chuck Huggins likes the progress his team is making saying their attitude and work ethic is very good which he hopes will pay off come tournament time. The tournament draw for both softball and baseball is Sunday, May 4th.
