Semi Catches Fire on U.S. 30

Crestline and Galion fire fighters fought to put out a blazing tractor-trailer fire on U.S. 30, carrying a cargo of alcohol after it spontaneously caught fire. The driver, heading westbound on U.S. 30, noticed smoke coming from the back of his trailer. The driver was able to unhook the tractor from the trailer, saving his truck, but his cargo was already gone.

"When we got here, it was fully engulfed," said Mike Weisman, Crestline Fire Chief. "Looks like it's a total loss," he also noted. Police were on-scene to redirect traffic throught the off-ramp back onto the highway. Although the large blaze caused the complete loss of the cargo the driver was carrying, no injuries were reported.
