The Richland Community Prayer Network is inviting the public to join them in celebrating the National Day of Prayer this Thursday, May 1, from 11:30 a.m. to 1 p.m. at Central Park Gazebo in downtown Mansfield.

This year's theme is "One Voice, United in Prayer." The scripture chosen for this year is Romans 15:6, "So that with one mind and one voice you may glorify the God and Father of our Lord Jesus Christ."

The non-denominational assembly will include an inspirational message by keynote speaker, Richland County Juvenile Court Judge Ron Spon, music provided by Mansfield Christian's IMAGE youth choir and a local band of musical artists.

The National Day of Prayer was signed into law by President Harry S. Truman in 1952. The observance is held the first Thursday of May.

For more information contact Rev. El Akuchie , 419-884-3648 or visit  www.nationaldayofprayer.org.
