Vasu Communications representatives and Richland County Sheriff's officers met with the county commissioners today to discuss radio upgrades.

Vasu Communications General Manager Arlin Bradford says his company will be testing new radio equipment with sheriff's deputies in May before they regroup with the commissioners on a proposal to purchase new radios.

The commissioners also approved a three-year plan for payment of a $5,200 sewer connection fee for a new start-up for a Subway Restaurant to be built on Interstate Circle off of Handley Road in the Interstate-71/Ohio 13 corridor.

Owner Justin McChesney says it will be his third Subway Restaurant in Richland County but the first he's built from the ground up. McChesney says construction should begin on the new restaurant in a couple of weeks with the business set to open up the first of August.
