Car Show Raises Money for Memorial Scholarship

Two parents honored their son's memory by holding a car show to raise money for the scholarship in their son's name.

Terry Bennett and Susan Elliott lost their son, Ryan, to a car accident just months after he graduated Kent State. Now, they seek to help others with the same dream that Ryan had - to become an entrepreneur. One of North Central State College's scholarships, the Ryan Bennett Memorial Scholarship, will be given to students interested in starting their own businesses.

"Cars were something Ryan loved, so it's kind of nice to do something that we know he would enjoy," said Susan. "We'd like for the proceeds to go to those that do want to continue their education and become involved in entrepreneural and business activities," added Terry.

Donations for the scholarship can be made to North Central State College.
