Colonel Crawford Schools Levy Fails

Colonel Crawford Schools hit the ballots with an additional levy to help fund the districts project for a new high school building, but would be rejected by the voters.

In a tight vote, the levy would fail 731-656, but Col. Crawford Superintendent Todd Martin says the district may still get their new building.

Martin believes he has cuts in place that are good enough to meet the state's requirements to proceed with the districts plans. Martin says "it's important" to keep the states offer of $6.5 million to help build the new high school and says he will check with them to make sure that is the case.

Martin also says he will "have to get with the [school] board members and see what they're thinking" before deciding to go back to the voters again in November.
