Lockdown at a local elementary school this afternoon was caused by an unlikely source. Prospect Elementary was placed on lock-down at the time of dismissal when a parent waiting in line to pick up a student became irate.

Mansfield City Schools Superintendent Brian Garverick explained the woman was waiting in line to pick up her child, became upset when told she was not following proper procedure. She was reportedly banging on the doors and yelling. The school was placed on lock-down for the safety of students, and lifted a short while later.

Mansfield Police responded, no arrests were made.
