One of Ashland's favorite sons' life came back into focus, thanks to a book signing held at the Ashland County Historical Society. Author John Rosengren of Minneapolis penned "The Fight of Their Lives," an account of Roseboro's early life in Ashland, his ascension into Major League Baseball as a catcher with the Los Angeles Dodgers and his infamous fight with San Francisco Giant pitcher Juan Marichal.

Rosengren says Jack Kelly, of Kelly's Collectibles in Ashland, and Chris Box, Operations Manager at the Ashland County Historical Society, were both key in providing him information for his new book. John Roseboro was born in 1933 and passed away in 2002. He was in the first Ashland County Sports Hall of Fame class selected in 1984.
