ODOT District 3 Weekly Construction Report For the Week of May 12

ASHLAND COUNTY

State Route 58: SR 58, between Township Road 673 and County Road 601, is closed for a culvert replacement. The detour route for northbound motorists is SR 58 to State Route 302; east on SR 302 to State Route 89; north on SR 89 to SR 58; and reverse for southbound motorists. The road is expected to reopen in early June, 2014.

CRAWFORD COUNTY

State Route 61/State Route 309: SR 61/SR 309 (Portland Way South) from Harding Way to Grove Avenue in the City of Galion is closed for southbound traffic as part of the rehabilitation and widening project. Northbound traffic is reduced to a one- way street. Traffic use Harding Way, State Route 18 and State Route 288 as alternate routes. The project is expected to be complete in November 2014.

State Route 61: SR 61, just north of State Route 309 in the City of Galion, is closed for a bridge replacement project. The detour route for northbound motorists is SR 61 to SR 309, west on SR 309 to State Route 598, north on SR 598 to US Route 30, east on US 30 to SR 61, and reverse for southbound motorists. The road is expected to reopen on May 16, 2014.

State Route 97: SR 97, from the City of Galion to the Morrow County line, is restricted to one lane of traffic as part of a resurfacing project. One lane of two-way traffic will be maintained with flaggers at all times. The project is expected to be complete on July 31, 2014.

State Route 598: SR 598, at the CSX railroad tracks just south of Crestline Road in the village of Crestline, is closed for repair work. The detour route for northbound motorists is SR 598 to US Route 30, west on US 30 to State Route 602, north on SR 602 to County Road 330, east on CR 330 to SR 598, and reverse for southbound motorists. The road is expected to reopen on May 15, 2014.

ERIE COUNTY

State Route 13: SR 13, between East Mason Road and Hoover Road in Milan Township, is reduced to one lane of traffic for bridge repair work as part of an upcoming resurfacing project. One lane of two-way traffic will be maintained with a temporary traffic signal through June 2014.

State Route 99: SR 99, between State Route 4 and State Route 113, is closed for a culvert replacement and structure repair work prior to a resurfacing project. The detour route for southbound motorists is SR 99 to SR 4, south on SR 4 to SR 113, east on SR 113 to SR 99, and reverse for northbound motorists. The road is expected to reopen on June 13, 2014.

HURON COUNTY

State Route 162: SR 162, just east of SR 60, is closed for work as part of the sanitary sewer project in the village of New London. The detour for eastbound motorists is SR 162 to SR 60, north on SR 60 to Bigelow Parkway, southeast on Bigelow Parkway to SR 162, and reverse for westbound motorists. The road is expected to reopen at the end of May, 2014.

State Route 162: SR 162, from US Route 250 to the Lorain County line (excluding the portion within the village of New London), has intermittent lane closures for pavement repair work as part of an upcoming chip seal project. One lane of two-way traffic will be maintained at all times with flaggers. The project is expected to be complete in July 2014.

US Route 250:

US 250, at its overlap with State Route 162 in Fitchville Township, is closed for a bridge replacement project over the Vermilion River. Detours for US 250 and SR 162 are posted. Due to weather delays, the road is expected to reopen in late June 2014.

LORAIN COUNTY

State Route 58: SR 58, one-quarter-mile north of Russia Road (CR 57), is reduced to one lane of traffic for bridge repair work as part of an upcoming resurfacing project. One lane of two-way traffic will be maintained with a temporary traffic signal through July 5, 2014.

State Route 58 - ***NEW***

SR 58, one-quarter-mile north of State Route 113, will be reduced to one narrowed lane of traffic in each direction as part of a culvert replacement project beginning Monday, May 12. Traffic will be shifted to the west side of SR 58 for approximately two weeks for the first phase of the project. The second phase will shift traffic to the east side of SR 58. The project is expected to be complete on June 12, 2014.

Interstate 90 & State Route 611: I-90, at its interchange with SR 611 (mile marker 151) in the City of Avon, is restricted to two narrowed lanes of traffic in each direction as part of a bridge rehabilitation project. SR 611 is also restricted to one lane of traffic in each direction. Motorists should expect delays and allow for extra time as they travel this area during the construction of this project, and are encouraged to find alternative routes around the project if possible. The project is scheduled to be complete in June 2015.

State Route 162: SR 162, between the Huron County line and the Medina County line, has intermittent lane closures for pavement repair work as part of an upcoming chip seal project. One lane of two-way traffic will be maintained at all times with flaggers. The project is expected to be complete in July 2014.

State Route 303: SR 303, one-quarter-mile east of Nickel Plate Diagonal Road in Lagrange Township, is closed for a bridge replacement project. The detour route eastbound motorists is SR 303 to State Route 58, south on SR 58 to State Route 18, east on SR 18 to State Route 301, north on SR 301 to SR 303, and reverse for westbound motorists. The road is expected to reopen on June 19, 2014.

State Route 511: SR 511, 0.3 mile north of Griggs Road in Rochester Township, is closed for a bridge replacement project. The detour for southbound motorists is SR 511 to State Route 18, east on SR 18 to State Route 58, south on SR 58 to State Route 162, west on SR 162 to SR 511, and reverse for northbound motorists. The road is expected to reopen at the end of June, 2014.

MEDINA COUNTY Interstate 76 - ***UPDATE***

I-76, from State Route 57 to the Summit County line, has single lane restrictions for cable rail installation within the median as part of the I-76 rehabilitation project. Beginning Monday, May 12, the contractor will begin asphalt surface paving work and single lane closures are expected throughout the daytime hours. Motorists are advised to use caution in this area and watch for slower moving traffic as it merges in to the open lane. The project will be complete in July 2014.

State Route 162: SR 162, between the Lorain County line and the village of Spencer, has intermittent lane closures for pavement repair work. One lane of two-way traffic will be maintained at all times with flaggers. The project is expected to be complete in July 2014.

State Route 303: SR 303, between West 130th Street and State Route 94, is reduced to one lane of traffic as part of a resurfacing project. One lane of two-way traffic will be maintained with flaggers at all times. The project is expected to be complete in mid-August 2014.

Remsen Road: Remsen Rd, at its bridge over Interstate 71, is closed for a bridge rehabilitation project. Motorists are encouraged to use Weymouth Road, Ledge Road and Ridge Road as alternates around the closure. The road is expected to be closed through mid-September, 2014.

Sleepy Hollow Road: Sleepy Hollow Road, at its bridge over Interstate 71 in Brunswick Township, is closed for a bridge rehabilitation project. Motorists are encouraged to use US Route 42, State Route 303 and County Road 17 around the closure. The road is expected to be closed through October, 2014.

RICHLAND COUNTY

US Route 42: US 42, one-quarter-mile south of Kings Corners Road in Troy Township, is restricted to one lane of traffic as part of a bridge replacement project. One lane of two-way traffic is being maintained with a temporary traffic signal through August 2014.

State Route 96: SR 96, one-half-mile east of State Route 13, is closed for a bridge repair project. The detour route for eastbound motorists is SR 96 to SR 13, north on SR 13 to State Route 603, east on SR 603 to SR 96, and reverse for westbound motorists. The road is expected to reopen on May 22, 2014.

State Route 181: SR 181, between the eastern corporation limit of Crestline to State Route 309, has intermittent lane closures for pavement repair work as part of an upcoming chip seal project. One lane of two-way traffic will be maintained at all times with flaggers. The project is expected to be complete in July 2014.

State Route 430: SR 430 (Park Avenue East), from North Street to the Interstate 71 overpass, is restricted to one lane of traffic as part of a resurfacing project. One lane of two-way traffic will be maintained with flaggers at all times. The project is expected to be complete on July 31, 2014.

State Route 603: SR 603, from Franklin Church Road to the Ashland County line, is restricted to one lane of traffic as part of a resurfacing project. One lane of two-way traffic will be maintained with flaggers at all times. The project is expected to be complete on August 31, 2014.

WAYNE COUNTY

State Route 94: SR 94, one-quarter-mile north of Back Massillon Road in Baughman Township, is reduced to one lane of traffic for bridge work as part of an upcoming resurfacing project. One lane of two-way traffic will be maintained with a temporary traffic signal through mid-May, 2014.

US Route 250/State Route 83 - ***NEW***

The US 250/SR 83 bypass, from the East Lincoln Way interchange to Dover Road, will be reduced to one lane of traffic in each direction beginning Monday, May 12 as part of a smooth seal pavement project. One lane of traffic will be maintained at all times. The project is expected to be complete in July 2014.

State Route 301 - ***NEW***

SR 301, one-quarter-mile north of State Route 604, will be reduced to one lane of traffic on Monday, May 12 for bridge repair work. One lane of two- way traffic will be maintained at all times with a temporary traffic signal through early June 2014.

State Route 604: SR 604, one-half-mile west of Overton Road in Congress Township, is closed as part of a slide repair project. The detour route for eastbound motorists is SR 604 to State Route 301, north on SR 301 to State Route 539, east on SR 539 to Interstate 71, north on I-71 to State Route 83, south on SR 83 to SR 604, and reverse for westbound motorists. Within this same area is a culvert replacement project, which has now moved the expected opening of the roadway to June 30, 2014.
