Original Published: 5/13/2014 House Speaker John Boehner answered questions about his future during an appearance Monday in San Antonio, Texas. Here's what Boehner had to say about his predictions for the November elections, and for the long term. "The talk on the street is that you may be entertaining winning re-election this November and then possibly not serving out a full term next time. Can you disabuse some of my cynical colleagues in the press of that idea?" asked the moderator. "Listen I fully expect to be speaker," Boehner said. " Do you fully expect to serve out your full term Mr. Speaker?" asked the moderator. "You know something, I can't predict what is going to happen," Boehner said. "I am going to be 65 years old in November. I never thought I'd live to be 60 so I am living on borrowed time." Boehner acknowledged he still faces resistance from some House Republicans because of his support for immigration reform. The speaker wants immigration measures to be implemented in steps, and he says the first step is border security.
