The new Beer Road Industrial Park in Ontario is now ready to be develop.

The Ontario Planning Commission approved a final plat for the undeveloped area on Wednesday evening, dividing the property into six lots for prospective businesses.

Ontario City Engineer Linda Timmer says the developer of the FedEx facility, which will be the park's first tenant, chose a 30 acre parcel for its shipping center, then the other 50 acres were subdivided. The rest of the property was selected to help define a right-of-way to build a roadway, Timmer says, that would lead into the FedEx site and could also be used for the other parcels.

Timmer added the wetlands area in the northern parcel would remain undeveloped for wildlife, while the southern portion of the park continues to be leased by the city as farm land.
