Sheriff's Sergeant Promoted To Captain

A 17-year veteran of the Richland County Sheriff's office earns a promotion. Sergeant Jim Sweat Junior became a Captain Thursday, following a ceremony with Sheriff Steve Sheldon, Major Joe Masi, and his family. Sweat's first day in his new job involved him with testing new radio equipment the sheriff's office is getting. Captain Sweat will replace Captain Eric Bosko as Commander of Law Enforcement Operations. Bosko is taking unused vacation time and may not return to work before his retirement takes effect July 31st.
