A 17-year veteran of the Richland County Sheriff's office earns a promotion. Sergeant Jim Sweat Junior became a Captain Thursday, following a ceremony with Sheriff Steve Sheldon, Major Joe Masi, and his family. Sweat's first day in his new job involved him with testing new radio equipment the sheriff's office is getting.
