"Fun Capitol of Mid-Ohio" Coming To Ashland

A new golf experience is coming soon to Ashland, but in a more modern, indoor environment that we're all used to. The Caddy Shack at 1640 Claremont Avenue will be open for business on May 30, offering customers a unique golf experience along with a variety of other amenities.

"This isn't necessarily a golf adventure" Says Caddy Shack CEO Aaron Polburn. "This is a fun adventure."

The facilities main attractions are the five state-of-the-art golf simulators, but it also offers putting greens, a full bar, food, billiards, arcade games and even an over-sized game of Jenga. The golf simulators at Caddy Shack are top of the line however, and provide players with a number of ways to enjoy them.

Polburn says there are 40 different golf courses to choose from, including some of the game's best like Pebble Beach and St. Andrew's, along with putt-putt courses and skee-ball. While indoor golf is still a relatively new technology, Ed Kanine with About Golf says they have plans to take over the industry.

"[Our] goal is to make indoor golf as relevant as outdoor gold." Says Kanine. "We want people to come in here and have a similar experience, if not the same experience."

Simulators can be rented for between $20-$30 an hour, depending on the day and qualifications. With the Caddy Shack's mixture of entertainment however, Polburn says "We think we're going to be the fun capitol of basically Mid-Ohio.
