Hale's Sports Center holds Benefit for Family

Hale's Sports Center outside downtown Mansfield held a benefit for the family of a Perrysville man who passed away recently. Jachob "Jake" King was only 35 when he passed away after suffering a massive stroke in the base of his brain. Since Jake's passing, his wife and children are in need of assistance to help with their financial troubles.

"They're just a young family trying to survive," said Ray Palmer, director of the Mid-Ohio Harley-Davidson Owners Group. "And that's what we're trying to help with."

Palmer and others helped organize a benefit ride at Hale's Sports Center, where people could donate to the family and possibly win a high-definition TV for doing so, while taking a few motorcycles for a spin.

"We hope to get a couple thousand dollars if we can," Palmer said. "I don't know what we'll get."

Anyone who missed the benefit ride can donate to the family by visiting Hale's Sports Center and leaving a donation in the care of Heather King, Jake's wife.
