Tygers And Rams Hope To Advance In Track

The Mansfield Tyger track team is looking to advance five runners to Friday's Division I regional track meet in Amherst. Mansfield's 4x100 meter relay team of Brian Benson, Malon Samuel, Tyquan Vickers and Jaleel Taylor finished first in a time of 43.4 and have advanced to the regionals.

On the girls side senior sprinter Symphony Cooke has also advanced having won both the 100 meters in 12.3 and the 200 meters in 25.5. Madison's Frank Douglas, one of the best hurdlers in the state won both the 110 meter hurdles in 14.8 and the 300 meter hurdles in 38.4. Douglas's teammate Bryan Taylor is also hoping to advance after taking third at last week's district meet in the 800 meters in a time of 2:01.3.

The state semifinals and finals are set for Friday and Saturday June 6th and 7th.
