One driver suffered unknown injuries when one car T-boned another car shortly before 9 o'clock Wednesday morning in Springfield Township of Richland County. Mansfield State Highway Patrol Trooper John Werner says the two-car collision happened at the intersection of Lexington-Springmill Road and Alta West Road. "It appears the BMW as eastbound on Alta West Road, failed to stop for the stop sign, was crossing Lex-Springmill when it was struck by the silver Honda that was southbound on Lex-Springmill," Trooper Werner says. The driver of the BMW was taken to the hospital and no citation has been issued yet as the accident remains under investigation. One of the cars involved in the accident came to rest in the middle of the intersection, backing up traffic for about an hour until the scene could be cleared.
