Fire at 300 block of 3rd Street

Firefighters were called to the 300 block of 3rd Street in Mansfield for a fire that broke out at a 3-unit apartment building. Firefighters say all the residents had evacuated the building upon their arrival and the none of the residents had sustained any injuries, however around 8 tenants would be displaced, awaiting aid from the Red Cross.

A maintenance man for the building told WMFD that a tenant claimed the fire had broken out from a television set on the second floor, but according to this source, no tenants currently occupy the second floor apartment and the entire floor was locked and empty earlier today.

The top two levels of the building sustained significant damages during the blaze, with the cause of the fire still under investigation.
