The cookie monster might not be interested, but if there's such a thing as a donut monster, he would have had a feast Friday morning at Wedgewood Estates in Mansfield.

The independent and assisted living center on South Trimble Road hosted their annual National Donut Day event, which was created by the Salvation Army in Chicago in 1938 to commemorate donuts being served to American soldiers in World War I.

Wedgewood Estates also offered residents and visitors free blood pressure checks and foot massages, along with tours of the community for seniors citizens.
