Mansfield Police Safety Town Starts 77th Year

The Mansfield Police Department's Safety Town program started Monday at the Brinkerhoff Spanish Immersion School. Sixty children who will enter kindergarten in Mansfield elementary schools in the fall, registered for the first of three sessions. They start with classroom instruction covering numerous areas of safety. The children don't ride bikes on the first day. But they do learn pedestrian safety. The program was created in Mansfield 77 years ago. Safety Town has fifteen openings for the first session, with walk-ins welcome The second session starting June 30th is filled. But there are openings for the third session starting July 14th.
