The measles outbreak that started in Knox County and has spread to eight others is being discussed during one- hour conference calls three times a week. For the first time, the Mansfield media were invited to sit-in on Wednesday's call involving public health and emergency management officials from nine counties, at Richland Public Health. This was the 13th conference call since the outbreak started in late March. The Ohio Health Department reports 329 confirmed cases in the nine counties, with eight people hospitalized. Richland County now has 19 cases, with 10 suspected cases. More than 9000 doses of measles vaccine have been administered, and everyone who has not been vaccinated is urged to get the shot. It's free, and Richland Public Health offers daily walk-in clinics during regular business hours.
