On Sunday HomeCare Matters Home Health and Hospice in Galion played host to the Ohio Village Men's Muffins and Lady Diamonds Vintage Baseball teams. Both teams used rules from the 1860's. Jim Johnson of the Ohio Village Muffins says there are right around 20 vintage baseball teams in a 60-70 mile radius that play right around 60 base ball matches during a season that begins in April and ends in October.

Johnson adds that the original game of baseball was meant to be used as recreation. The game was usually played after a family picnic involving two communities many times on a Sunday. The men and women play the games in period uniforms that are researched from pictures and other documents and fabricated by a team seamstress.
