Mehock Field was the host of Mansfield's 2014 Relay for Life, an event dedicated to eradicating cancer. The event honors and remembers those who have lost their battles with cancer, and those who still fight it. The event's opening ceremony included stories from cancer survivors, a skit which was set to music, and a rendition of the national anthem by WVNO's own Chelley Kemper. Teams of participants came to the microphone to introduce themselves and state how many years they'd been participating before starting the relay. The relay was successful in raising money towards the cure to cancer. Future events will be posted on the Richland County Relay for Life Facebook page.
