Evacuation Slide Deploys Mid-Air On United Airlines Flight

  Original Published: 6/30/2014 A United Airlines flight was forced to land in Wichita, Kansas, Sunday, after the evacuation slide accidently deployed mid-air. The Boeing 737 was carrying 96 passengers and five crew members. It was on its way from Chicago to Orange County, California. A passenger said he heard a pop, turned around and saw the slide. He took these photos. United says no one was hurt. An airline spokeswoman didn't say what caused the slide to deploy, but did day it wasn't attempting to open the emergency door. All the passengers were seated at the time.
