An investigation is underway in to the cause of fire at a vacant home in Mansfield.

The fire occurred Tuesday just before 9 p.m. at 153 West Third Street.

Mansfield Firefighters arrived on the scene to find heavy smoke and flames coming from the structure.

Assistant Fire Chief Jim Bishop said no one was inside when the fire started and the house had been abandoned.

Bishop also said this was not the first time the   residence has been in flames, but he said it will more than likely be the last.
