Ontario is ready for its Independence Day Festival Friday, with the heavy traffic it brings to Marshall Park and the high school-middle school. Food vendors are getting set- up behind the schools, while police are preparing for road closings and traffic control. A 5-K run starts at 8:30 a-m, along Shelby-Ontario, Milligan, and Rock Roads. The parade steps-off at 4:15, along Milligan and Shelby- Ontario Roads, which will be closed. Find your fireworks viewing spot well before nine o'clock. 10,000-12,000 people are expected, so be prepared for slow traffic and a long wait leaving the fireworks. WVNO MIX-106 FM will broadcast from the festival starting at 6 pm, and will play patriotic music during the fireworks. For traffic flow maps and details, go to the Ontario Police Department's website, www.ontpd.com
