A local Korean War veteran and community leader has died. Frank Russo died Tuesday. The Mansfield resident was 83 years old. Russo was well-known in the community -- serving many organizations, including the Veterans Service Commission. Here he is speaking at the Democratic Womens Caucus last November. Long-time friend and fellow veteran Doug Theaker says Russo's legacy will live on forever. Frank Russo was also active in the American Legion, Harmony House, United Way, Richland Newhope, Rehab Center, and helped organize many local Veteran's Day and Memorial Day parades. He's survived by his wife of 48 years, Polly. Visiting hours are Sunday, from 2 to 7 p-m, at the Ontario home of Wappner Funeral Directors.
