One man has died in a fire in northern Morrow County. The Johnsville, Iberia, Mount Gilead, Fredericktown, and Troy Township Fire Departments were called to a pole barn on Wirick Road -- in a very rural area between Lexington and Johnsville -- early Friday morning. Inside, they found the victim's body. WMFD's Greg Heindel talked with the victim's father, brother, and sister, all of whom were distraught and declined to be interviewed on camera. They did give Greg his name, Kevin Lee Carte, 47, and said he was burned to skeletal remains. Carte's brother Duane says he tried to rescue Kevin, but the flames were so heavy, there was nothing he could do. Duane Carte says his guess is, the cause of the fire was electrical. Johnsville's fire chief says he does not believe it's arson. The State Fire Marshal is investigating.
