Fireworks filled the skies over a number of area communities during the Fourth of July holiday weekend. Throngs of vehciles made their way down Ohio 309 past the WMFD studio's on their way to Marshall Park for the city of Ontario's fireworks display. Hundreds of people filled the park and surrouding yards and driveways of homes to catch the colorful pyrotechnics as they burst and lit up the cool summer sky. WMFD's sister radio station, Mix 106-point-1 WVNO and many of its personalities, entertained those in Marshall Park during a live broadcast throughout the evening, then simulcast music to the fireworks display. The mild but dry summer weather brought out a tremendous crowd for this year's fireworks display, with many people saying it was the largest group of onlookers they had ever seen at the event.
