One woman is dead -- the result of a shooting in Richland County.

It was reported by a 9-1-1 call at 10:13 am Monday, at 1273 Kings Corners Road East, southeast of Lexington.

Sheriff's deputies and a rescue squad raced to the scene, and found the woman with a gunshot wound.

Sheriff's Major Joe Masi says the shooting may stem from a domestic disturbance.

Everyone who was inside the house was taken to the sheriff's office to be interviewed, and the Ohio Bureau of Criminal Investigation was called to process the scene.

The victim is identified at Deborah Hovestadt of that address.  Her 41st birthday would have been Tuesday.

She was pronounced dead at 10:37 am, and her body was taken to the Summit County Morgue for an autopsy.

No one has been arrested or charged, while the investigation and interviews of witnesses continue.
