The Rock N' Ribs festival has taken over North Central State College for the weekend, with a number of food vendors looking to sell ribs at the event. Many of them submitted their best product in the annual celebrity rib judging event, where 30 of the most well-known people in the area acted as judges.

The group made up of politicians, business owners, local media personalities and other professionals, joined forces to determine which vendor had the best ribs at this years Rock-N-Ribs festival. The judging criteria varied from one evaluator to the next, but event coordinator Kimberly Lybarger says it was a "nice array of judges".

Lybarger says they take judging the competition "very seriously" because the winner typically sees a boost in sales over the weekend. Seven vendors entered their best product into the competition, and while there could only be one winner, all of them will have ribs on sale at the festival.

Country musician Phil Vassar kicked- off the event on Thursday evening. The Tubes will headline on Friday, with The Spin Doctors wrapping-up the festival on Saturday.
