"Open Ohio" is the name of a bill in the state legislature that seeks to allow Ohioans to see how state offices spend money.

The measure was proposed by State Treasurer Josh Mandel. The bill has been passed by the Ohio House, following contentious debate about whether passing a law for this purpose was even necessary.

Mandel feels it is, so future state treasurers will not be able to remove the checkbook from the internet. The measure now goes to the state senate.
