A fiery multi-vehicle accident in Marion claimed the lives of three people and sent 11 others to the hospital. The accident occurred after 3:25 p.m. Monday on Delaware Avenue and Executive Drive.

Edwin Sisson, 50, Johanna Sisson, 45 and Amanda Sisson, 27, all of Marion, died in the crash. The Ohio State Patrol says a vehicle driven by Larry Dennison Jr., 43, of Marion,  sideswipped another car near the intersection of Vernon Heights Boulevard before fleeing the scene. The patrol says Dennison then crashed into four other parked vehicles at the intersection of Delaware Avenue and Executive Drive.

Two vehicles burst into flames. The Sissons were trapped inside their burning vehicle and died. The occupants in the other burning vehicle were able to escape. Eleven people were taken to Marion General Hospital for treatment.

The crash remains under investigation.
