Catholic Charities Adult Advocacy Services will be hosting a Guardian and Caregiver Support Group meeting 6-7:30 p.m., Wednesday, Aug.6 at Resurrection Church, 2600 Lexington Ave.

The Guardian and Caregiver Support Group meetings are held every other month to educate and support those who are guardians or caregivers to elderly individuals.

August guest speaker, Beverly Tatro, will discuss the importance of ombudsman services for adult guardianship. Beverly is the Long Term Care Ombudsman Program Director for the Ohio District 5 Area Agency on Aging in Mansfield.

“The purpose of these meetings is to share information and help others to act in the best interest of their client or family member,” said Brenda Starr-Jude, Catholic Charities’ Staff Guardian. “An ombudsman can help those who may have issues or problems advocating for their client, family member or friend who is in a nursing home or assistant living.”

The meetings are free and open to the public. For additional information, please contact Brenda Starr-Jude at 419-524- 0733 ext. 223 or [email protected]

Catholic Charities serves people of all backgrounds in the Diocese of Toledo by providing food, shelter, prescription and emergency rent assistance as well as adoption services, jail and prison ministries and guardianship services to the elderly.
