A Mount Vernon man was killed when the motorcycle he was driving collided with a vehicle as he was attempting to pass it. The Mount Gilead State Highway Patrol says 47-year- old James Kesman died in the accident. The patrol says Kesman was driving west on U.S. 36 in Knox County when he tried to pass a Jeep Laredo driven by 44-year-old Stephanie Hays of Mount Liberty. Hays was making a left turn into a private drive and Kesman was ejected from his motorcycle when it struck the vehicle. Hays was taken to Knox Community Hospital where she was treated and released with minor injuries. The accident remains under investigation.
