Ford Hill Pool on Cardinal Avenue in Mansfield has been sold. The city's Board of Control approved the sale Tuesday morning, to Taylor Metal Products for $20,200. Taylor's business is adjacent to the pool. City Parks Manager Mark Abrams says he does not know Taylor's plans for the property, but doubts the pool will re-open. He says it was sold because it would cost $500,000 to renovate and make it usable. The pool has sat idle since closing after the summer of 2007. Ford Hill Pool is believed to have opened in the early 1970's. Unity Pool has also been closed for the last six years. Mansfield's only remaining city-owned swimming pools are Liberty and Linden.
