The Mansfield Branch of the National Association for the Advancement of Colored People (NAACP) annual membership drive is underway and will end Aug. 16 with cookout from 1 to 5 p.m. at North Lake Park.

The Mansfield community is invited to come and enjoy hot dogs, chips and salad, as well as learn more about the history, accomplishments and current activities of the Mansfield branch. Memberships may be obtained prior to as well as during the cookout.

Membership types and costs are:

Youth & College: (Age 20 and under with CRISIS MAGAZINE) $15 per year

Youth: (Age 17 and under without CRISIS MAGAZINE) $10 per year

Regular Adult: (Includes CRISIS MAGAZINE ) $30 per year

Silver Life Adult: (Includes CRISIS MAGAZINE) $750 (Payable installments of $75 per year for 10 years.

Training for new members who desire to hold an office or volunteer in some other capacity will be held after the membership drive ends.
