The Marshals Northern Ohio Violent Fugitive Task For Richland County, on Tuesday, arrested Antonio Taylor, 22, in a residence in Mansfield.

Taylor was wanted by the Richland County Sheriff’s Office on a May 15, 2014 indictment for aggravated robbery with a firearm specification, a felony of the first degree.

Also in late June, the Richland County Sheriff’s Office responded to an incident involving Taylor at the BP gas station on Ohio 430 in Mansfield, but when deputies arrived he fled the scene on foot and was not located.

Task Force Officers initiated a fugitive investigation to locate Taylor back in May and followed up on several leads, missing Taylor by only minutes at another Mansfield address last month.

The Task Force ran Taylor in the Mansfield News Journal in July as a top 12 most wanted and on Tuesda Task Force Officers received information that he was at a residence on the 1500 block on Park Ave East. When officers made contact with the occupants of the residence, Taylor attempted to hide.

Officers searched the house and located Taylor attempting to hide in the insulation in the attic. After approximately 20 minutes of negotiations Taylor agreed to come down peacefully and he was taken into custody without further incident and transported to the Richland County Jail.

U.S. Marshal Pete Elliott stated, “Our team in Richland County continues to do a great job working with the community to continue to hunt down the most violent offenders in the area. We will continue to work together to ensure those criminals that flee are brought to justice.
