A number of former athletes, coaches and personalities from the world of sports took a swing for charity at Ashland Country Club, for the 5th annual Matt Underwood Celebrity Golf Tournament.

The voice of the Cleveland Indians and host of the event says the star-studded guest list is a compilation of good guys who really understand the importance of giving back. Underwood is an Ashland native and says he enjoys giving back to the community that raised him.

A number of charities benefit from the golf outing and Underwood says all of the money will stay local.

Although the main purpose of the event is to raise funds for local charities, Underwood says it is still a tournament and "there's always going to be somebody that tries to get a group of ringers together" to try and win it.

That strategy typically "back fires" according to Underwood, who, in typical sports commentator fashion, compared this strategy to the New York Yankees saying, "you can go out and spend all you want, it doesn't guarantee you anything".
