Indians Trade Masterson

On Wednesday afternoon the Cleveland Indians parted ways with opening day starter Justin Masterson in a trade with the St.Louis Cardinals in exchange for outfield prospect James Ramsey. Masterson will be a free agent after this season and is 4-6 with an era of 5.51 and is just coming off the 15 day DL with a sore right knee.

Masterson was scheduled to start against the Texas Rangers on Friday, now he will start for the Cardinals against the Milwaukee Brewers on Saturday in St.Louis. Toward the end of last season, Masterson came out of the bullpen as the Indians won ten straight to close the regular season advancing to the AL wild card game against Tampa Bay.
