Thursday at midnight, the Ontario girls soccer team will open at 12:01 am with a midnight madness practice under the lights. The Warriors are coming off a 15- 3-2 season which saw them claim another district championship, their fifth straight with three coming in Division II, the other two in Division III.

Coach Larry Atkinson begins his eighth season at Ontario and states one of the reasons for the Warriors success over the past five years which also includes two state semifinal appearances and a state runner-up finish in 2012, could come from individual attention he and his coaches try to give the players. The Warriors will open their season on Saturday, August 16th at Lima Bath at 1pm.

Coach Atkinson will be looking to replace eight graduated seniors, returning four and says his squad will have to mature quickly if they are to be successful. Despite their youth the schedule is ever bit as rough as in years past with the likes of Akron SVSM, Akron Archbishop Hoban, Celina, Middletown Bishop Fenwick and locally Clear Fork, who the Warriors defeated to win the D-2 district title last season at Ashland.
