Original Published: 8/1/2014Friday started the first official day of football practice across the state as mandated by the OHSAA, though some schools may wait until Monday. At Madison, the Rams didn't waste any time going through drills on their new turf at Startek Stadium at Ram Field. For coach Sean Conway who begins his fifth season on Esley Lane, discipline will be a big emphasis, not turning the ball over, tackling and blocking well along with not committing penalties at the wrong time. Conway adds that this is still a frustrating time going through drills without pads and still not knowing where the team stands on offense and defense when the real scrimmaging starts. After a championship season in 2012, Madison had a rough 3-7 season in 2013. Madison will open the 2014 season on the road at Shelby on Friday, August 29th.
