The historic Ohio State Reformatory in Mansfield will soon also house the Ohio Penal Museum.

The announcement was made Tuesday by a representative of Governor John Kasich, during a lunch attended by community leaders in the guard room.

Numerous artifacts have been acquired, and are in storage, in some cases for restoration. The artifacts include large statues of the crucifixion of Jesus Christ, and of the Virgin Mary.

All of the items should be on display at OSR within the next couple of years, adding to the many historical prison items already being shown.
