The Crestview golf team started the season strong by winning the Simonson Invite Wednesday at Brookside Golf Course. As a team the Cougars shot a 315 with Ben Olewiler leading the way carding a 70, followed by Bryce Lutz with a 75. Michael Staniford had 83, Joe Stimpert 87 and freshman Jacob Salyers a 92.

The 315 total was eight strokes better than runner-up Sugarcreek Garaway's 323. Danville was third at 325. Coach Bob Olewiler's team will be shooting for their third straight trip to state competition this season. The Cougars won the Division III state golf title in 2012 and finished third last season.
