The Richland County Regional Planning Commission has a new director. Jotika Shetty, 40,  has been hired to replace Matt Huffman.

Shetty is a planner and environmental coordinator for the civil engineer firm KE McCartney and Associates in Mansfield.

She has a bachelor's degree in architecture from the Manipal Institute of Technology in India, and a master's degree in city and regional planning from the Ohio State University.

Shetty starts as Regional Planning Director August 28. She was selected from 25 applicants.
