An Ashland teen remains in critical condition at Cleveland MetroHealth Medical Center following a two-vehicle crash on U.S. 42 and Ashland County Road 995.

According to the State Highway Patrol, Christiana Ringler, 16, suffered severe injuries in the accident which occurred just after 7 p.m.

Ringler was a passenger in a car driven by Andres Ornelas, 18, of Sunbury, Ohio.

Ornelas was driving north on County Road 995 when he failed to stop at a stop sign at U.S. 42. His s car was struck by a van traveling westbound on U.S. 42 driven by Kevin Nesbit, 24, of Louisville, Ohio.

Ornelas was transported to Ohio Health MedCentral/Mansfield Hospital. Nesbit refused medical treatment at the scene.
