The Ontario girls soccer team will open their new season Saturday at Lima against the Bath Wildcats at 1pm. Head coach Larry Atkinson begins his 8th season as Warriors coach looking to find new players for the graduated eight seniors who took the program to four district titles, two regional championships, two final four trips and one state runner-up finish in 2012.

Four seniors return for 2014 and even though they are a youthful squad, Atkinson feels this year's team has more overall speed, plays good defense and they are strong in goal. However if their is one area where they are lacking it's the ability to finish and score. Though the team may be young the schedule is just as brutal with the likes of Bishop Fenwick, Akron SVSM, Akron Hoban, Celina and local rival Clear Fork who they will play next Tuesday in Bellville at around 7pm. The Warriors beat the Colts last season at Ashland's Community Stadium to win the Division II district title 3-0.

WMFD will carry via tape delay, the Ontario at Clear Fork girls soccer game scheduled for Tuesday, August 19th. The game will be replayed Thursday, August 21st at 7pm.
